If you want a picture of yourself or a friend, your first thought is probably to use a camera or a phone.
Before cameras and phones were invented, however, if you wanted a picture of someone, it had to be made by an artist. These kinds of pictures are called portraits. In this exhibition, you will see and compare different kinds of portraits, learn about how they were made, and consider how you would want your own portrait to look.
